I Made .09 Cents This Month on Medium and Here’s Why That’s a Big Deal
I have been writing for a month, about an article a week. Thinking about it I can say it feels like I wrote one every few days but apparently not.
My views have been abysmally low at best. I am not complaining though. I had about 20 views across 3 articles and truly expected to get zero pennies from that. Only one follower too.
The $.09 I received was actually better than my Google Ads per impression earnings from the top performing website that I operate.
It was more money than I made my first year of learning affiliate marketing (operated at a loss factoring in start up costs)
I was more excited and encouraged by earning nine cents this month on Medium than nearly all the other money I made this month from day job sources. It just feels frictionless.
I’m guessing many of you can relate to this feeling. Many of you have much higher earnings but I’m sure you remember your first dollar earned here.
I thought I would have to go viral to earn any money but it turns out every view indeed counts.
I feel like I’m mining Dogecoin with my words instead of trying to hunt down graphics cards on Craigslist and worry about electric bills and other fears of operating costs.
